The Arts Society Malvern Hills

Welcome to the website for The Arts Society Malvern Hills.  We arrange a fascinating and wide-ranging programme of lectures each month from September to May. Our lecturers are accredited by the Arts Society UK are of national and international standing and their topics include all areas of decorative and fine arts. Speakers will have been chosen by members of the Committee, having heard them speak previously at a national event organised by the Arts Society UK in London;  the resulting programme is gives breadth, depth and variety, thus appealing to as wide a range of members possible.

During each year we hold  'Days of Special Interest', several visits within the UK, and cultural tours within the UK or overseas.  In addition, we contribute to arts projects for young people through local schools and other organisations, something that is increasingly important when funding for and support of the arts in schools is diminishing.

Our Heritage Volunteers carry out textile and book conservation when requested through other organisations, whilst some of our members act as guides at Little Malvern Court in the summer.

If you would like to join the Society for next season (August 2026 to July 2027) please complete this application form or contact the Membership Secretary.

LATEST NEWS

The last lecture of the season was on Wednesday 20th May. It was titled 'The Schroder Collection of Renaissance Silver' and was given by Timothy Schroder. The lecture was preceded by the AGM. The AGM Agenda and Annual Report may be found here.

The Programme for the next year is on the lecture pages; a summary leaflet may be downloaded here. The Membership Secretary will be in contact in July to encourage members to renew their membership.

TAS (Malvern Hills) Heritage Volunteers (working with other Societies) were involved in a twenty-year project, restoring Crewelwork Embroidery at Hellens in Much Marcle. The work will be on display at Hellens, from May 2026 until October 2026 (see Hellens: A History of Stitches for details).

Every year part of the Arts Society Malvern Hills (TASMH) membership subscription is used to sponsor local Community Arts projects. These provide people and organisations with opportunities for involvement in the creative arts. Please look at the Community Arts Page and the News page for details of these activities.
